RTA Kicks Off B. GREEN Campaign

Public transportation plays a significant role in finding smart solutions to the environmental challenges facing America. While transit clearly benefits those who use the system, even larger benefits accrue to all citizens in the form of more livable communities, reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality, reducing energy consumption, and allows for both transit agencies and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint. The RTA has recently adopted a Sustainability Program to further advance the local environment through public transit. Below you will find a few striking facts about the benefits of public transportation in the environmental realm. ‘B’ green. Coastal Bend!
